Can you tell us how mamapapa came to life?
mamapapa actually began with my three young children. When they were little, I struggled to find beautiful, simple, natural clothing for babies and kids in Australia - nothing felt quite right. I wanted the softness, the quality, and the understated French style I grew up with.
So, I started sourcing pieces from France, little by little, for my own children and then for other families who were looking for the same thing. From there it grew naturally. As my children got older, so did the brand, and eventually I began designing pieces for women as well. What stayed the same was the heart behind it: creating clothing that feels honest, effortless, and comfortable to live in.

mamapapa is a family-run brand, and at Sills + Co, we’re also a family business. How has working closely with your family shaped the way you create and grow mamapapa?
I love it! My daughter Ella models and my eldest son Kenyon photographs. Working with my family keeps everything intimate and real. We understand each other, we share the same values, and we all care deeply about the people who wear our clothes. There’s a lot of laughter, a lot of honesty, and a shared desire to build something that feels warm and genuine. That energy shows in every piece we create.

mamapapa has such a distinct style. What inspires your collections each season, and how do you translate those inspirations into the final pieces?
My inspiration always comes from life around me - the coast, the light, the wind, the way fabric softens with time. I love clothes that make you breathe a little easier, pieces you reach for without thinking because they feel like you. That balance of simplicity, comfort, and quiet elegance is what guides every collection.

The S25 collection is soon to be released. What pieces from the collection are you most excited for our customers to discover?
For S25, I’m especially excited about our soft linens, relaxed shirts, and easy trousers. They carry that true mamapapa spirit - light, natural, and effortless. I think people will feel the comfort and love we put into them the moment they slip them on.
